Introduction

How I discovered UX Design

I first discovered UX design through a close friend of mine. From the moment we began talking I instantly felt an attraction to it and wanted to learn more about what she did as a designer. Over the next few months I read articles and blogposts, watched YouTube videos, and reached out to other UX designers to find out everything and anything I could about user experience design as a career.

learning and education

General Assembly

In September of 2018, I embarked on my journey as a UX Designer enrolling in the 10 week immersive course at General Assembly-Atlanta. I was determined to learn and eagerly put to practice everything that I was taught. From the moment the first lesson began I knew I had made the best decision of my life. I not only found the perfect career for me, but I bonded with classmates and instructors and forged lasting relationships. On the last day of class I was voted “Most Charismatic” by 31 of my classmates, and I felt on overwhelming sense of gratitude and accomplishment.
